About Verified Voting
Verified Voting is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization championing reliable and publicly verifiable elections. Founded by Stanford University Computer Science Professor David Dill, the organization supports a requirement for voter-verified paper ballots (VVPBs) on electronic voting machines allowing voters to verify individual permanent records of their ballots and election officials to conduct meaningful recounts.
Verified Voting is comprised of two separate organizations: VerifiedVoting.org, a 501(c)(4) lobbying nonprofit organization, and Verified Voting Foundation A 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization. Verified Voting champions reliable and publicly verifiable elections in the United States. The purpose of our website and this blog is threefold:
- Champion reliable and publicly verifiable elections
- Lead a nationwide grassroots movement demanding Verified Voting Paper Ballots (VVPBs) and verifiable elections
- Secure our voting systems to prevent electronic failures and/or fraud
- Advocate for Voter-Verified Paper Ballots (VVPBs) for All Voting Systems. VVPBs allow voters to verify a permanent record of their individual ballots and enable election officials to conduct meaningful recounts and mandatory audits
- Safeguard our democratic system
- Restore voter confidence
